Blog Tour:Beautiful Broken (University of Branton #2) by Nazarea Andrews {Author Interview + Giveaway}

Title: Beautiful Broken
Series: University of Branton #2
Publication Date: September 24th 2013
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Synopsis

She's been broken by her past. He's been breaking for as long as he can remember.
Together, they can make each other whole--or destroy each other.

When his best friend asks for something, Dane rarely says no. But babysitting a newly sober Scout Grimes for three weeks isn't exactly a normal request. And with their history, it's a recipe for disaster. Not to mention, she's drop dead gorgeous and he can't touch her.

There are few people Scout trusts as much as Dane Guillot. He's always been her safe place, where nothing can hurt her. He's also been the only man she's never let herself want--screwing up their friendship isn't worth one amazing night together.

They have too much history, and too much personal baggage to ever work. But if they are willing to take a chance on love--it might be worth the risk.

Author Interview

Thank you so much for answering my questions Nazarea!

Can you start by telling us a few things about Beautiful Broken?

It's darker than the first book in the University of Branton series. It was hard to write the darker elements of their relationship. Both characters carry a lot of baggage and working through it was fun and challenging.

Scout and Dane. Did these two give you a hard time while writing the book?

Um, sorta? Dane uses sex as a defense mechanism, so getting him to behave was challenging (and not always achieved). The most challenging thing was that they knew each other intimately well. Explaining their relationship to readers in a natural way was hard as hell.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned while writing Beautiful Broken?

The longevity and depth of their relationship.

From starting writing books to becoming a recognized author, it’s a long way. How was it when you first started?

Oh man. So different. The ebook/self publishing revolution was just starting. Traditional was the only route that was acceptable--it's been six years and it's completely changed since then.

Your area of expertise is mostly New Adult. What do you like most about writing for this age group?

Well. I loved college. And I love that free fall, oh s**t feeling of being on your own for the first time. It's crazy and intense and I can do things there that YA doesn't let me. But I don't take myself too serious like some adult books tend to--it's the best of both, in my opinion.

Can you share a little of your current work with us?

Hmmm. It's different!!! Not contemporary romance but there is a sexy guy (my favorite male lead, actually) and a kickass girl and story I absolutely adore--and it's coming December 3!!!

What are you currently reading?

Shadowfell by Juliet Marillier

Any tips for aspiring authors?

Write every day. Be willing to work harder than you ever have. Don't give up. And forget trends--write what you love not what you think is selling.

Thank you for your time!
